Kicks Info:These are the pair of classic and high-quality shoes worn by Scottie Pippen of the Chicago Bulls during the 1996 NBA Playoffs. A very classic shoe that MUST be included in your Pip Collection. He wore these shoes throughout the whole 1996 Playoffs, including the championship series against Seattle Supersonics, in which the Bulls dominated and won 4 games to 2. This was the first of 3 straight championships by the Bulls after Jordan's first retirement.
These shoes feature air pockets at heel, midfoot and toe area, which provides maximum shock absorption. The shoes are also high-cut which give a very good ankle support. The distinctive "A I R" on the side make these shoes very recognizable. The heel air pocket of the left shoe of this pair, however, is blown open (see picture), but nevertheless, the shoe over condition is still a 7 out of 10. Nike also released a knockoff, Air Much Uptempo, which featured only one heel air sole unit.

My Story: Just like other Nike shoes, my first reaction when I saw these shoes was: damn, more AIR in my face. I hated the idea of having those big fonts on the side of the shoes. Very stupid. But I liked the Air bubbles that are sitting underneath the entire shoe. I found them super cheap in Value Village and decided to buy them, even though the size was not right.
