Kicks Info: These were the signiture shoe of Chris Webber, the outrageous but awesome power forward. I am not sure but this might be his first and last signiture shoe. He did not like the ridiculous price of the Nike shoes and that the poor kids could not afford them, so he ended his contract with Nike and went with some other company. These shoes are very classic because they were the first pair featuring both front and heel air sole units. These shoes were retro-ed twice, 1999 and 2002, but not exactly the same. Because the contract was ended, the number "2" was changed to something else, and the little hoop logo at the back of the shoe (CW logo) was changed to some japanese writings (Japan version) or Nike logo (N.American version).
My Story: Like almost half of my shoe collection, these are second handed. One day my friend was wearing them and I said I loved them!!! And he sold them to me cheap. What's good was the shoes were my size and the condition wasn't too bad. I wore these shoes to play ball all the time, but then one day I jumped and landed on someone else's foot, and twisted my ankle badly in the process. I said I would never wear them for basketball again; the shoes were too low and had NO ankle protection. With the way the laces were constructed, it never feels that the shoes are tight enough, so the heel moves around in the shoe, and that makes it so much easier to twist ankles. READERS: DO NOT WEAR THEM FOR BALLING!!
